The building of Horse Guards with the neighbouring Horse Guard Parade is referred to one of the most recognizable and popular places among tourists in London. First, this popularity is due to accessibility and amazing impressions that stay with you after watching the bright ceremony of Changing of the Guard. Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace takes place daily at Horse Guard Parade at 11 am (10 am on Sundays). The ceremony lasts for about half an hour.

The building of Horse Guards is located in the famous Whitehall Street opposite St James's Park. It was built in the middle of the 18th century as army headquarters and horse guards, their major function was - guard for Charles II. Nowadays Horse Guards guard their headquarters and hold the guard daily until 4 pm. At this hour in accordance with the Queen's order, they are doing the guards' duty. If you want to make a selfie with one of them - this is the right time.

Originally ground floor of the building was used for stables for the royal horse guards. Later the first and upper floors started to be in use with the help of pulling hoist and later with the lift.

Main parade entrance is used only for the crowned heads on special occasions. Free entrance for visitors into the yard of the Horse Guards is performed through special passages. In 2007, the admission of tourists was opened to the Household Cavalry Museum. Apart from the historical part, functioning stables are also a part of the museum. Adult ticket costs about £7, online booking is available.
