Kupferstichkabinett

This museum comprises the largest in Germany and one of the largest in the world collection of graphic art. Holdings of the museum contain over 500 thousand prints and about 110 thousand other art pieces (among them are pastel drawings, water colour drawings and pictures). The first 2500 pictures and watercolor drawings were purchased for the museum in 1831 by Friedrich-Wilhelm. After the war the collection was divided between the East and West Berlin. After the fall of the Berlin Wall the collection was reunited and placed in the new building of Kulturforum.
