Humboldt Box

Humboldt Box

This is the information centre related to the same-named architectural project. Its main task is the restoration of the royal palace of Hohenzollern destroyed in 1950. The concept of the project presupposes that three sides of the palace will be reconstructed while the fourth side facing the River Spree will have the modern appearance. According to the project most part of the complex will be occupied by collections removed from the Ethnological Museum and Museum of the Asian Art which are now located in Dahlem. A new studying library for young people will also be housed here, another part of the area will be granted to Humboldt University for holding symposiums, conferences, lectures and master-classes. Budget is planning to allocate 600 million Euro for this project.
