Kulturforum Berlin

The Berlin Kulturforum, with its museums, concert halls, libraries and institutes, is one of the most important cultural sites of Germany. Kulturforum is located in close proximity to the Potsdam square. It was developing between 1950 and 1960 as the symbol of renaissance of after-war Berlin and as an addition to already existing Museum Island which occurred on the territory of East Berlin after division of the city. Buildings of Kulturforum are distinctive by its modern architecture style. Tourists are especially attracted by the New National Gallery, the Berlin Gemäldegalerie and Philharmonie. Territory of the Kulturforum also houses the Museum of Prints and Drawings, Museum of Decorative Arts, Museum of Musical Instruments, Art Library and Berlin State Library. There is a great number of various shops, cafes and restaurants on the territory of Kulturforum.
