Berggruen Museum

Museum Berggruen

Berggruen Museum is the extensive collection of modern art classics in Berlin. It includes the works of Picasso, Klee, Matisse and many other well-known artists. It took Heinz Berggruen, a writer and a journalist, almost 30 years to form his collection. When Nazis came to power, Heinz Berggruen left the country and took all the pictures with him. In 1996 the collection returned to Berlin and was sold to the city as a ’gesture of reconciliation’. Now visitors have the opportunity to enjoy over 100 picture of Picasso, over 60 works of Klee and 20 works of Matisse.
