DDR Museum

DDR Museum

DDR Museum is part of the socialistic past of contemporary Germany. This private museum was opened in 2006 and since then its exposition has become twice as big. The museum displays every object of life of the Eastern Berliner: there are over 10 thousand household objects, documents and pictures which are exhibited on the territory of over 400 square meters. The museum houses a natural size Trabant and restored interior of the East German apartment with books, discs and a TV-set. By the way most of the exhibits are interactive, thus, you can hop in the Trabant and turn on the old TV-set. After the excursion don't forget to visit the DDR-Restaurant Domklause located nearby, enjoy the historical interior and taste the dishes cooked according to recipes of DDR times.
